Just paid for training + briefings for Black Hat. I am still deciding if I will stay out for Defcon or not. First timer for both.

Anyone else going this year?

A co-worker is going to be giving a presentation there. Should be interesting. No way I'll be able to go though. :(

If I had the time I definitely would like to go to both, but I don't so I won't go :(

Wish I had budget for to go out to Vegas for one or both of those conferences.

On a similar security-related note - I might be going to the Community SANS Boston event in Oct for their SEC501 class.
Does anyone else here use SANS for training? I just took their SEC 401 in the @home (online instructor-led) format and was very happy with it. I'm also happy to say that I passed the GSEC certification with ease and it has left me hungry for more.

My group appears to be big on SANS training. They had a big group out to the Orlando one for various trainings (proximity probably made that a no brainer). I know we have one at the Baltimore one going on right now. I know another guy who used SANS for his CISSP CPEs every year and he had no complaints. People seem happy with SANS trainings though I have no first hand experience.

Sharing a room with a former coworker for Defcon. Looks like I will be doing both.
