Black GBA non-sp!

Quite awhile ago, not but 6 months after they first came out, I was anxious to get one. When i went to a local game shop the guy working their said that since they had an abundance of the berry, he would cut me a deal. They were still seling for about $70 and said tha he would sell me a berry for $50. So I took it.

Anyways since i know most will not read the first part: I got a berry for real cheap at the time, and didn't like the color. So i took it apart and painted it black. I also just recently back-lit it. What do you think one of these could go for on an auction site (i.e. e-bay)?

I am not selling it, this is not a for sale thread mis-placed. I am just wondering what you guys think i could get for it.

agreed.

I would say you won't get a penny over the retail value of a new GBA.

At this point most people that buy the non-SP GBA are buying it for one of two reasons, to use it with a GC game (such as FF:CC) or to get it for their kid because the SP is still too expensive.

I doubt your GBA will fetch a price any higher than the normal.

The fact that it is sprayed won't change anything, either. The only way someone would pay more for it because of its color would be if it was a collector's item, which yours is NOT, and technically is less valuable because it will no longer be servicable by nintendo.

Well it is in near mint condition. A little toothpaste would fix the very minor scratches in the screen from putting it in my pocket. And it is back-lit, that has to be worth something. Oh well, it is functional and I think it looks alot better. Thank you for your input.

considering somone could get a new GBA SP for ~90, a used GBA SP for ~70, and a used GBA for ~50 the most you could get for it i would say is 50-60

On the contrary, I'm in my right mind, but I would still buy a non-SP over an SP; the SPs are entirely too small and uncomfortable for my hands.

Not bad, considering I paid 50, getting 50 for it now means that i have had free entertainment for the last couple years.

EDIT:
Would it help much if I bundled Golden Sun 2, a Yu-Gi-Oh game and a rechargable battery pack(w/ charger) and a 2 player link cable?

I'm sorry, I should have made an exception for those with freakishly large and undextrous hands 😉

I wuld not buy an SP for the same reason. They are much less comfortable to hold, and the only real advantages are a covered screen and back-lighting. One of which is gone and theother i am thinking of making a mod to cover the screen, or just putting it in a case, lol.
