Black Friday

Wow, a month to go.... I stopped to realize how shocked I've become of myself.... my wife and I will be in Rochester, NY for Thanksgiving and spending the night there.... we've already started planning that we'll have to take both cars with us so we could more effectively hit the bigger sales. Somehow, I find that pathetic, but at the same time, I know how much enthusiasm black friday generates for the Hot Deals forum.
Anyone else thinking ahead? Hoping this year's goodies will be better than last years? Any forecasts as to the quality of the offerings to get me into the stores??

I'm broke this year. BUT, I do have ~$150 in credit at staples, so I'll be praying for some good sales there 🙂

I've already started xmas shopping. Bought some stuff over the weekend

🙂 I already got a few big gifts out of the way for relatives.... Walmart had some camping stuff on clearance for about 80% off... I couldn't pass the deal up. Relatively expensive nice gifts purchased for very little.

My annual goal is to have enough shopping done that I don't need to go to a mall in December. It makes my holidays stress-free.

Yes, the mall in December is definitely off limits

I arrived 10 minutes before Staples opened up last year.... in my city of 15,000. It looked like 1/2 the city was already in their parking lot! And, the store had opened early, and they were out of 1/2 of the things I wanted. But, I think this year I won't have a problem, except that I'll be 1 1/2 hours away. I'm skipping the whole Rochester thing if Staples has enough really good deals.

imma watch the ad's before black friday hits (and before they get killed by the companies like last year). if i see anything that tempts my appetite (lcd monitor, dual format 8x dvd burner), then ill wake up and make the effort. but if its like 100 cd-r's for $1 after a $500 MIR 🙂P ), imma sleep in.

Black Friday...bitter sweet last year. Lots of good deals, but spend a ton of money & got someone unintentionally fired from their job....which sucked big time... 🙁

I've never gone shopping the day after Thanksgiving, probably won't either. I do most of my Christmas shopping like 2 days before Christmas.

black friday for me is x-mas shopping, but rather killer deals for myself 😛

The wife and I learned the hard way about Black Friday 2 years ago at Best Buy. 167 and 168th in line at 6am. Considering the line had to have been around 900 by the time the store opened, we were in a pretty good spot. But of course, after all the waiting we get inside and they were out of most of the things we wanted. Unless it is something I just can't live without, I'll pay a little extra to avoid Black Friday. Besides, alot of places offer free shipping during the holidays, no need to deal with crowds period!🙂
