Black Friday Laptop and Xmas Deals

So.. My wife has the habit of dropping her laptop. She cracked it up bad recently. She had a pretty decent 2 in 1 Dell. 13 inch screen. So thought Id find her a new one for Xmas. She is only browsing the web. I swear the prices for a decent i5 are all over 600 bucks for a 2 in 1. This seems pretty high. Are all the prices jacked up? Are the black friday xmas sales a scam?

I'm surprised this hasn't sold out yet

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/d/dell-inspiron-13-i3378-3340gry-pus-2-in-1-pc/8wfkrz8dbsjr/5zfg?activetab=pivot😱verviewtab

$599 on sale for $379

Obviously you'll want to add SSD and replace RAM (assuming it's not soldered)
  • Intel Core i3-7100U (2.40 GHz) CPU
  • 13.3" 1920 x 1080 TouchScreen Display
  • 4GB DDR4 Memory
  • 1TB Hard Drive
  • Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 3-Cell Battery
  • Inputs:
    • 2x USB 3.0
    • 1x USB 2.0
    • 1x HDMI
    • Media Card Reader
Edit: Sure enough it's out of stock online but apparently still available in store.

Do the two of you have children and if so are many of them with dents in the head (re habit of dropping)?

I usually buy laptops every five years, or whenever I break them. Last deal I got was a refurbished Dell Inspiron i3 for like $300 maybe four years ago, which has been more than adequate for just web browsing and is still going strong. There's usually something good going on at SlickDeals.

RossMAN had a good suggestion. +1 on the SSD.

You just missed 15% off at Dell along with 15% rebate from Ebates. You also get 3-6% rebate using free Dell buyer account.

Check it out parts may still be there

If you buy one don't forget a tube of Crazy Glue
