So, what's everyone's thoughts on the potential quality of deals this year?

Think they'll be good? so-so? Hotter than..... <insert your personal Mr. or Ms. hotness here> 🙂

Unfortunately the *only* local store we have for computer stuff is Staples. We have an additional national chain electronics store coming, but still months off.

It's hard to remember when Staples was in its heyday around here. Tons of FAR stuff. I remember at one time I had in excess of 1,800 blank CD's because I used them as FAR filler. Little did I know 2 years later I would be down to less than 100 as I gave away a ton and have used a lot also.

Last year I was unable to convince my friends to go stand in line so I tried ordering online from Staples. What a friggin joke. I got almost nothing.

I am signed up with Staples on 21 E-mail addresses now and maybe I get one coupon a week between them and even then its a $20 off $150 instead of the $30 off's like I used to get. But I have been getting a few $10 or $20 off $100's and those are always welcome.

So while I am not expecting much, I'm hoping for the best from Staples at least.

It will be interesting to see how Cyber Monday plays out this year.

Cyber Mondays.
I don't have big hopes.
Good on-line deals sell out as quickly as B&M.
Unless the retailers advertize the exact starting time of a deal, you'll never be able to get on one.

Go to Google search for Black Friday and the first result is? 😉

I think it's pretty funny that on the first Google results page there are three different websites all claiming to be the "official" Black Friday site. Clearly the governing body of Black Friday needs to crack down on the imposters! 🙂

I've always gone to bfads.net in the past, but I'll check out your site this time around.

In addition to BB, CC - I'd also like to see Walmart, Radio Shack, CompUSA and Fry's Electronics.

I'll see what I can do about the CC Black Friday list. Working on that day is gonna suck 🙁

OMFG here we go again, its that time o year (the most wonderful time of year, of course)... and I just spent $600 in computer stuff this month 🙂

Black Friday isn't as pants dropping hot as it use to be in the last few years. I'm only interested in electronics because they're the high ticket items that actually are worth sleeping over in freezing weather for.

We'll see how it plays out, but I'm not overly optimistic on deals this year. I'm expecting the usual run of really cheap hard drives, media, thumb drives, one or two insanely low DVD players, and probably some super cheap budget computers and $200 dollar basic laptops.

What is black friday?? *dont hit me!*

Black friday is only the best day to shop 😉

It's the day after Thanksgiving where they have all of the deals. Generally, you'll need to stay outside the door all night to get in on the really good deals.

The rumour for the BB $380 core duo notebook seems hawt. I wonder what Circuit CIty will have against it. I hope it'll be an amd notebook so it can have an onboard ati or nvidia graphics card. Would be much sweeter than intel's graphics card.

I told my friends about it and so far we plan on all getting together in line to buy one. Ah, how I love Black Friday. 🙂

Analysts predict slow sales this holiday season. There are not so many new electronic items. Nothing from Apple and other vendors. Dell has always good deals for laptop so no reason to wait unil BF.

Furreal Friends Newporn Puppy or Kitten on the K-mart ad.

Somehow I don't think that's appropriate. Hopefully someone changes the typo.

hmm, i'm moving in december and need to save up for a security deposit... hope there's nothing good this year 😛

wow, some nice looking deals at office max, esp. in terms of storage devices:

Averatec 2370 12" AMD Turion 64 X2 12" Laptop $599.99
HP Pavilion Desktop w/ 19" Widescreen LCD $799.99
Maxtor OneTouch III 300GB USB 2.0 Hard Drive $99.99
Simpletech 500GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive $169.99
Verbatim Store 'n' Go 2GB USB Flash Drive $24.99
Verbatim Store 'n' Go USB Hard Drive 8GB $69.99
Viore 37" Widescreen LCD HD-Ready TV $699.99

Yeah, those were the ones that stood out to me. The 300GB One Touch III is a decent deal. I'm still amazed at how cheap flash drives are these days. I paid around $70 for my 256MB Mini-Cruz when it came out and you can now get a 1GB for $12.99 per Office Max's BF sale.
