I usuallly get Memorex 16x 80-Min CD-R's (in 10pk slim case), but I couldn't find them. I saw some 10pk of 80-min Memorex black CD-R's, so I decided I'd try them out.

Are they just as good? better? horrible?

I'm not at home right now so I can't try 'em out yet.

I have been using the PNY Black Diamond CDRs for a while and they're great. High compatibility and fairly durable.

AFAIK I dont know of any proof that they're more/less scratch resistant than others.. Usually a company will state very clearly if they add a scratch protective layer to their media.

All I know is that the black CD-R's seem to look more like the PSX game I've just ripped :D

The regular Memorex are crappy IMO, the black ones are much better.

They do seem to have better scratch protection, but not better than other good CDR brands like Verbatim Azo Blue. I got a 30 CDR spindle of the Black Memorex to try them, I like them and they look cool. :)
