I'm trying to locate black replacement bezels for a Plextor 40/12/40 CD Burner and a Pioneer 105s Slot Load DVD Rom drive ... does anyone know of a source for these? Thanks!

If you can't find them, vinyl die is always an option available at autoparts stores.

i can tell you i tried to get a black faceplate for my teac floppy and liteon burner, both companies refused to sell me just the faceplate, so your better of painting it yourself.

Plextor sold me a spare beige faceplate for my 40x12x40x burner. You could buy one of those and use vinyl dye to paint it. That way you've got a backup in case you mess it up.

Lian-Li has aluminum bezels for some drives. They have one for a Plextor PX-W40 12TA. Is that what you have? Newegg has it here for $8. Look for "Lian-Li C-16 (BLACK) Aluminum Bezel cover" at the bottom. They have one for a Pioneer drive too but it's not for the slot loading one...

Just wanted to say thanks for all the assistance you have provided in my search for black bezels. The Lian-Li Bezels look interesting ... has anyone tried them before? It looks like they make them for the Mitusumi floppy drive and Plextor burner that I own. I still would need to find something for the Pioneer DVD slot load drive. So that makes me wonder about trying the vinyl dye. Does anyone have a web site that provides step-by-step guidance on using it? Thanks again for all your help!

I use the aluminum ones (not black) for all my drives. It matches my Lian-Li PC-65 case perfectly. These bezels are just stickers though, not replacement pieces, but it's really hard to tell the difference and I haven't had any problems with them falling off or anything. Can't help you with the vinyl though :)

I think it was around $15 total including shipping. I called Plextor sales to order it. It was around 3 months ago.
