Black and White TV-out not good...

I have a sager NP6260 no-name laptop. It has an SIS 650 video card with the latest drivers. It has S-video out, and I have to run through a converter to switch to RCA. The adaptor has been tested, and works perfect on another computer. Help would be appreciated! Thanks,
