Black and white "specks" on LCD of Canon A40

I've discovered little black and white "specks" on the LCD of my A40. The black speck appears to be on the plastic screen and not a dead pixel, however the white speck appears to be directly on the LCD.

How the heck did they get there, and how would I possibly remove them?

Yea, i've got something like that on my new A70. I was wondering what to do about it. I know for sure its not a dead pixel but its behind the first layer of plastic so I can't get to it. Any one else have this problem?

Well, mine seems like some blue fuzz, only one , not multiple.

i haven't a clue. I bought mine when it first came out and it's flawless. Taken it to the beach, dropped it on the street, taking it to the snow, taken it to the sierras, hiking and everything. Nothing =\

take it to best buy or call up canon and ask.
