Black-and-white laser multifunction recommendations?

I'm shopping around for a print/copy/flatbed scan/fax black-and-white multifunction laser printer for my dad. I'm finishing up my research tonight and I just wanted to know if anyone has had personal experiences with any multifunction laser printers?

I'll be sure to post my own findings here in a day or two.
 
All my experiences with MFDs has always been bad regardless of brand. So much bloatware. I have banned these devices from hell from my office. If anyone buys it and they need their computer fixed and if I find out it was caused by an MFD I charge the users dept. 300 per hour. 🙂 I am an evil boss.
 
I have a dell 1600 N and for what I use it for, scaning and printing, it works great. Faxing works just fine too,

I've had fairly good luck w/ Hps 6XXX series of MFDs but its been awhile since I've used them on a regular basis since it got replaced w/ a 55ppm copier /printer / scaner and a dedicated fax machine.
