black and blue VGA D-sub

I am in a bit of a pickle, My new motherboard has a black D-sub 15 pin VGA port, and the cable attached to the monitor, the male end is blue 15 pin D sub, and they don't fit, I don't get it!!! next year I am getting an HDMI monitor but in the mean time this is all I have

I shouldnt be an issue unless a pin is bent as was said previously. If you want, post pics of both looking at the sockets dead on.

What is motherboard model? Could be trying to put a VGA cable into a serial port or something?

Link to motherboard? There's two 15 pin DSub connectors, the 3x5 pin VGA one and a 7/8 pin dual row one. The second are extremely rare these days though, AFAIK they were ever only used on computers for game ports; it's been a long time since I've seen one of them.

Well, that's pretty rote standard. If it doesn't fit, check
1) Bent pin on the cable
2) Female end accidentally attached to cable retainer
