Why have I not heard about this here?

Burger King’s new hamburger to celebrate Pride Month has caused quite the stir on social media.

The fast-food giant’s Austrian stores will be serving a “Pride Whopper” with “two equal buns” — either two top buns or two bottom buns — until June 20 to promote “equal love and equal rights,” the company said in an Instagram post last week.

Burger King said in the post that the new burger’s “little twist” is “meant to put a smile on our faces and to remind us to treat each other with respect and peace.”

Now I'm not an expert on these things but surely having either two tops or two bottoms is going to lead to disappointment!
I was thinking the same thing. I suppose tops are regarded as "superior" to bottoms - at least in some sense.

But as someone else suggested, they could share the meat in between. Just don't ask me how.

Do please expound, I'm curious to hear more about this theory.
I guess if we are going to misuse terms "superior" can mean upper and "inferior" means lower, but in the context of burgers I'm not sure where its going.
I am sure that there's a 5 guys joke in here somewhere though!

That would probably be more of an orgy.

John Stewart did a good bit about fake corporate caring and the Burger King buns got a brief mention.

Some people seem to conflate top/bottom with dom/sub, was just curious if that's what was going on here, or something else :p

I always find that people are more complicated than that. It's what make people interesting!
All I know now though is that I'm starving and would kill for a burger but all I'm going to get is something terrible and congealed from the canteen at about 1 in the morning!

Well it's not really what it means. A bottom is a gay term for a man who likes to receive anal, a top is the one giving it.

I can only imagine how much cocaine fueled this marketing stunt.
I'm all for it but only because I know exactly which people it's going to really annoy!
If I was working in BK I'd absolutely be giving out bottom burgers to the guys in trucks with flags on!
