BJs Wholesale Club or Sams Club

We dont have a costco here. Both clubs require memberships fees of 35$ per year, and are equal distance away. Which is better? Or should I just go to walmart and stop bitching about food?

the walton family own both wal-mart and sam's club.

sam's gives you samples.
some things are cheaper at wal-mart.

i shop at sam's more often though.

I work at BJ's so definitely BJ's.

What state are you in.(Hate to post a stupid answer but) BJ's only exists on the east coast, whereas Costco and Sams are nationwide. BJ's does however, have more SKU's, but Costco is a little bit more specific.

Finally, since i am being a complete idiot even though im not working, for a while longer BJ's is offering a 15month membership for IIRC $35 or $30, (for another couple of bucks you can get the rewards membership too so...)

My job aside, while i have heard that Costco is better (more dominant and everything) i have heard from 99% of people i have talked to that BJ's is MUCH more personal and friendly.

I used to do most of my shopping at sams club. But then one day went to Wal-mart and wrotedown the price of everything. Then went to sams club and looked at prices. half the items were cheaper going to wal-mart. granted i would have to buy 2-3 boxes of something but they were cheaper. a few items were cheaper. Every now and then they have some good deals on expensive items.

i do not think that sams club is worht it. just do not see any real savings.

BJ's is much nicer, and more customer-friendly. Also they let you use most any credit or atm card, which Sam's does not....I think you can only use Discover or an ATM at Sam's.

BJ's also has nicer merchandise overall than Sam's.

i don't have BJ's near me so i am a member of sam's club. i really haven't been truly dissatisfied.

you'll really need to hear from someone who has had memberships at both to get an honest opinion though. i've been to BJ's with my father (i was a kid then and didn't pay attention to prices) and he's satisfied, but then again, it's also at a convenient location and there is no sam's club option.

Heh, the BJ's clerk gave me the same spiel when I started my 60 day free trial membership yesterday. I think that it was only $35, but that is a still a lot more than free 🙂

Anyway, it's a nice place to shop, but BJ's needs nicer sample people in the food section! The sample folks at Sam's club are WAY nicer, and more generous 🙂

Haha, good ol BJ's employees.

We used to do Demos (Food) almost everyday, but i guess they cut back. FYI BJ's is about the cheapest company you can come by. We have NEVER closed the store early because of snow or anything. YOu cannot use another persons BJ's card anymore. The temperature in the store is set at like 78F, because they dont want to waste money to keep it cooler. Need i go on lol.

What state do you live in?

Just as a side not, some of you might not believe this, but ya know.
Most employees got over the fact that the store name was BJ's. However, the club i am at, has a store number. Yeah...you guessed it, 069. No joke.
