Bizarre Vista quirk...can anyone help??

Hey guys,

I've been running Windows Vista for awhile now (since January) and have had this issue since then, but have never really done anything about it. Now, I figure I might as well get to the bottom of it.

Basically: When my computer resumes for hibernation or sleep, my windows taskbar and everything on it has disappeared, EXCEPT for the "Windows Start" icon in the lower left.
The only way to bring it back that I've found is going into control panel--->Taskbar options, and selecting and then unselecting "Auto hide taskbar". That seems to make it reappear.

Vista is completely up to date, and I'm running the latest video drivers, but I just can't figure this out.

Anyone have any ideas?? It only happens when coming out of sleep mode.

Yeah i've seen that on a ton of the systems at werk.

It doesn't happen on my systems at home here though...

I just assumed that updates along the way had fixed it, but i guess not if you're still fighting with it...

I also had an issue with the taskbar getting "stuck" in autohide, & the only way i could get it unstuck was killing explorer.exe & then restarting it.

I never could get that "stuck" taskbar thing fixed, so i gave up & now run taskbar not on autohide.
