bittorrent with linksys router problem

hi,
i would like to ask whether linksys supports bit torrent downloading. whenever i use bitcomet to download two or more torrents, my connection breaks down and i experience no connection. i have to switch off the router and on again before the connection comes back.

this problem does not occur if i connect my computer directly to the modem and not the router.
may i know how i can solve this problem?

router model: linksys wrt54g (i'm using wired lan)
windows version:winxp sp2
modem model: motorola surfboard sb5100

looking forward to hear from you experts soon..

Same happens to me on another model linksys (not home and cannot remember off-hand).

I use azureus and I cannot get the ports to forward to it either. I'm considering dropping linksys and going to another brand all together.

newer firmware and firmware from other groups fix this issue. if you search you'll find a lot of posts about this in here

i saw the firmware at :http://www1.linksys.com/internation...wid=201&coid=58 --but the page says Firmware Upgrade For WRT54G - Wireless-G Broadband Router v2
-->i checked my router, its version 2.2 as stated on the sticker.. can i still use this firmware??

so does the official firmware fix this issure? i found the version information at the website stipulated above but i don't understand the contents at all.. please help me..thanks

this board doesn't support bbcode so i don't know the URL you were on

Click here and in the scroll down box select the router you have, which sounds like WRT54G v2.2 and click "downloads for this product"

there is a Firmware link on the next page, and the newest firmware was released 6/27/2005

you can download just the firmware in .bin file format, and there is also and auto-upgrade utility
