Anybody know how to block Bittorrent's ports? Does it incrementally look through ALL the ports or are there specific ports I can block to stop it from working at all...?

Thanks.

Actually, 6881-6889 by default. But alternate clients can specify different ports.

What's the network setup/etc? Give us some background.

Probably the most effective thing to do is block 6969 and 69 outbound; that's what most of the trackers use, so they'd never be able to even see a tracker in the first place.

The client I use uses those ports by default now. I thought they changed the original spec but maybe it's just my client.

There's more than 1 way to block the upload... like netlimiter... but either way it'd be a bad idea... as you'd get very slow download speeds as well. I experienced this when I my upload was capped at 15KBps at one point... I hardly got any high downspeeds ever. That has changed.
