BitTorrent-- i'm downloading at 13k, yet web pages continue to load as if my bandwidth was being maxed out, wth?!

I'm downloading the HL2 file off BitTorrent @ 13k, which is pretty low compared to my max of 90k per second downloads. BUT, that's the weird thing, it seems that i'm downloading at 90k because web pages are loading slooooowww. It's never like that! Could it be that i'm also uploading to other BitTorrent users? I saw that it said "connecting to other users" or something similar to that....

If you upload at your max speed you have no room to send Ack packets up the pipe

when you're downloading you're sending lots of confirmation-type packets. you're probably uploading something as well.

Unless you change it, all of your upload bandwidth is taken up by the BT client. Download the experimental client to limit the upload speed.

You can limit the upload on the standard client also. Just go into file types, edit the open command, and add "--max_upload_rate 10" to the end, where 10 is whatever you want each client to be limited to in kB.

Yup, it uploads and downloads simultaneously. Pretty cool download thingy, but it hasn't worked that well for me so far.
