Had an old school rear projection 50" TV that weighed as much as an elephant, but now it no longer turns on and is essentially a huge paper weight.
It was a sad occasion as I'd had plenty of memorable moments with it, shared with some wonderful people, and it certainly has helped me get through some tough times, and it surely will be missed.
However, after the brief mourning stage and realizing that it was a helpless cause, I figured out what it meant--new TV time! Whee
Is there anything else that can die that leaves such a happy moment on top of it?
With computers, when it dies that usually means some data was lost unless you're very meticulous about backing up--and these days a new computer doesn't offer that much more than one that's been used for a while.
With a car it doesn't really die since there's usually someway to repair it, and plus with the costs of a new car it can turn out to be as big a hassle as it is rewarding..
Fridge? Who cares? Anything else?
