Hey everyone. I've been using Azureus for about a year now. I've always had slow speeds. On large swarms like Linux distros I could manage roughly 80KB/sec. But with normal torrents I usually got anywhere from 1-3KB/sec. But at least its been letting me have some stuff, But recently, with the upgrade to a new Direcway modem (DW6000), the torrents have stopped working completely. The modem has no firewall. I do not have a firewall installed. Windows Firewall is not running. I do NOT have a router. I have a dynamic IP. The modem hooks into a switch. 2 people are connected to it along with the modem, and a HP 5850 networked printer. Every port I enter comes up with a NAT error. (Always has.)
I have no idea what could be wrong. I cant seem to set up any listening ports for TCP or UDP. (Never have). I've tried everything in the Wiki but nothing has worked. I could deal with the slow speeds before but this is terrible now. I really need help.
Before, on my previous modem, my computer served as a proxy. It was HTTP only. I was never able to successfully configure the proxy on Azureus. I dont know if this new modem uses a proxy or not.
So everyone is clear, Direcway is a 2-way satellite connection from Hughes network systems (same people who do DirecTV). It has up to 1.5Mbit download speeds and only 85kbit upload speeds. It also uses a Fair Access Policy that limits downloading to 169MB in 8-12 hours. (225MB from 2:00AM - 5:00AM)
This is my only internet option besides Dial-Up. With old rotary lines and being 30 miles away from the city, I can only get a max of 26.4kbps on it. Thats why I chose Direcway.
If there is any more info anyone needs just ask. I hope someone can help.
