so i went and bought some mouse hunting gear

put a .22 pellet through one ear and out the other of a red squirrel at 20 ft once, man did that thing ever twitch a lot (i'd have to blow it up to make it any more dead).

To anyone who thinks this was a act of cruelty, obviously you have never had a squirrel get into your house nesting in the insulation, chewing holes and risking a house fire by stripping the plastic covering off wires. I shoot them if they come within 30 ft of the house.

You're nicer than me when it comes to mice. I used to put out glue traps and snap traps, and either stomped on them or let them starve to death when they got caught.

That might sound cruel... unless you've also had a past mouse infestation where they got into your pantry and started eating your food. That meant WAR, and I most have killed two dozen mice that winter. You don't mess with a man's Pop Tarts and live!
