Axe builds on Bitboys patented XBA? technology, and a complete prototype chip has been manufactured by Infineon Technologies on their 0.17 micron embedded DRAM process. As Infineon has closed down its embedded DRAM fabrication line, Bitboys will not bring Axe to the PC desktop market.

I know you're being sarcastic, but it certainly shouldn't be a surprise. Its been known for several months that Infineon was dropping its E-DRAM lines, and that this would negatively affect BitBoys product.

It's not their fault really. They designed the chip to be fabbed by Infineon and now that Infineon is shutting down it's eDRAM process, they're stuck. I read a post with all this info in it a few weeks (a month or two maybe?) ago - also included was that they have a functioning PDA video adapter that can do a lil 3D, has a higher resolution than anything current for that application, and some other nice features. Also it is aparently being pursued by some big names in the PDA and cell phone market.
