Depends.
It can go from between 0kb/s to your max download rate.
Depends on your router settings, number of seeds/leechers on the torrent, and the speed of your connection.

Depends on your connection, how many seeds/peers...

On a well seeded file from a good tracker, I can max out my connection (~840 kB/s) on a single torrent.

Sounds like you need to open your ports 6881-6999 on your router.

Depending on which router you have, most router brands will have a FAQ on their website as to how to set up "Bit torrent".

So check out the website of your router for it.

Which bit torrent Client do you use?

I recommend Bit Comet and Azeureus

http://portforward.com/english/routers/...g/Linksys/BEFSR41v2/BEFSR41v2index.htm

Select your bit torrent client from that list

When I first learned of the BT protocol, I googled a FAQ on it, which within 2 minutes informed me of what I needed to know about it, including port forwarding. If the internet is really this difficult for some, I suggest TV. Nothing quite as entertaining as watching people eat slugs.

I so love the ppl on this forum. it used to be such a nice place to ask for help when something was slightly confusing. Now we just have sarcastic idiots that only live to insult and degrade someone else.

thanks for the help for those who are mature enough to do so.

Sure thing, glad to help. As I do in most of these threads. Which crop up 2-3 times a week here. Because there's no search feature.

If you want to be sarcastic, please don't read and reply to the thread. it IS a choice, you know.

without reading this thread, ill answer the OPs question
I get about 20kB/s on average. Anything over 1mB is a fast torrent.
I am on DSL btw.
