Well a few days ago I upgraded from XP home to XP pro w/ sp2. Before I was able to use bittorrent to download files flawlessly. Now when I try to download a torrent file, I get a jumble of weird letters and symbols. Could upgrading the operating system have anything to do with this? Thanks in advance.

Save the torrent to your HD (right click, save as) and open it with your favorite BT client.

yup. sometimes it opens bit torrent and sometimes it'll just pop out as a text file. easier just to save the file.

btw, bit torrent leaves every port on your computer open

yeah, that's the part I don;t get tho... SOMETIMES it'll open in BT, but sometimes as jibberish (text). why?

I use Firefox FWIW.
