Yeah the article is pretty extensive in what they have tested and such. However, i dont find the tests they conducted very reliable.

First of all, when running each benchmark on the different 6800 series cards they dont use the same settings. They will use different resolutions and different AA and AF.

I am not quite sure if they wanted to point out the max settings for decent fps on different setups???

When testing cpu performance, they just down clock a FX-55 amd64 cpu. Personally I dont think that is a good indication of the performance of other amd64 cpus.

they do use a disclaimer

they dont bench like for like, and i dont think they ever have. theyve made it easier for the reader by showing the best possible playable settings. its good in a sense you can quickly see what each card is capable of

but yes it is a bit harder when your trying to do comparison (ie direct comparison) and at the end of the day, its basically their idea of playable.

i still think its a good concise way to test. i mean do you really want them to test 10x7 with a SLI set up?
