Bit of a problem with my Promedia 5.1...

I have a Hercules GTXP and when I play mp3s or any other music I only get sound out of my two front speakers. When I run the test of the 6 speaker config in the hercules control panel I get test sounds out of all five speakers though. Is there something I'm missing? Also where do I plug the third plug into the hercules card? Any help would be appreciated.

um....Music is in stereo, meaning 2 channels. Perhaps there is a programing selection that will simulate the music coming out of all the channels.

I play a dvd with 5.1 and I still only get sound out of two speakers. I dont' seem to be recieving any bass either. I have all the boxes unmuted in the sound panel too.

This might not work, and its kind of simple. But on my friends speaker I think theres an option for surrond, make sure that knob is turned all the way to the right. Then all the speakers should play sound. Also for the sub check to see if theres any bass/subwoofer knob and turn that all the way up.

Alright I went to radio shack and bought cord for the third plug, a y-adapter to two rca plugs. I still have have problem getting sound out of the middle and the rear two speakers. I get sound when doing the testing, but when I play mp3s, movies(non dvd), and dvds(with power dvd and 5.1 enabled) I only get sound out of my two front speakers.. my sub seems to be working fine though. Does anyone know what I should do?

right click on the speaker icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen, and select 'adjust audio properties'....then select the audio tab, then advanced....make sure your speaker configuration is set to a 5.1 setup.....

Call Klipsch Customer Service, they will send you a brand new tested set of 5.1's and they will pay to ship the old ones back.
