Bit my tongue a few days ago...

and it hasnt healed yet. it still hurts. it hurts extremely when i try and eat anything. ive lost my appetite a lot lately due to the fact that it burns like hell. not to mention i have a canker sore on the top of my lip. im thinking about going to the doctor tomorrow for the cut on my tongue. i bit it almost a week ago and it was slightly bitten the day before, and then i bit it another GOOD one. ouch! is there any ointments i could put on it to heal it? ive gargled with listerine, it doesnt even burn my tongue. ive also tried warm salt water. any other home remidies?

there's some chinese stuff i drink whenever that happens, works great. dunno what it's called though.

i think white people use alkine or something similarly named. i forget. from what i hear it was like a white powdery thing, tasted bad, but worked. i dunno, i heard it from a friend.

should i go to the doctor though? it hasnt healed for a few days now. doesnt cuts in the mouth usually heal faster then normal body cuts?

when you bite your tongue, according to the Chinese approach to medicine, your body is out of balance. It's too hot ("yeet hay"). You need to "cool down" by cutting back on fried, greasy, or spicy food. Try eating something cool like apples or pears. You can also go to an Asian tea place and get some "leung cha". Trust me, you'll feel better. You'll notice that your mouth will feel cooler and less dry.

im asian and all, but ive never heard that before. i guess it doesnt hurt to try it. lol, i do eat way too much greasy food. im suprised i havent had a heart attack yet. i should be getting one anytime now. but regarding biting my tounge, nobody answered if i should go see the doctor tomorrow or not. can a doctor even do anything for my tounge or would i be better off seeing a dentist?

If your toungue is hurting all the time, and not just when you touch the sore, then you might of gotten an infection. Better go see a doc b/f you tongue falls off.

Otherwise, put salt directly on the ulcer. It will burn like hell, but should help it heal.
