Birthday party: to ditch or not to ditch

A relatively recent friend of mine (less than 2 months, hung out once) invited me to her birthday and, while I accepted a week ago, i'm considering flaking. Firstly, she's gay so this is not a disguised YAGT. Secondly, another friend sold me her extra Bloc Party concert ticket for Friday so that was an unplanned expense and I can easily see blowing $100 at a birthday gathering that's scheduled to last until 6 am... The cover alone is $20 with $8-10 drinks.. Grr.. Hate the place she picked..

Cancel or force myself to go, for Karma's sake?
 
Show up for half an hour, then bail. Yeah, the cover sucks, but what price for a clear conscience? 😀
 
sounds like an acquaintance, not a friend. bail on the party, and make something up.

if it was a friend, u wouldnt even be considering ditching.

1. shes gay, there will be women there
2. not all her friends will be gay
3. have a couple of drinks
4. maybe hook up with one of her friends
5. leave party early so u dont spend all your money or drink water as its cheaper
