Birth of the Couch Potato

Most of you are too young to remember this. I was in 8th grade and I missed it!

First video game.

I don't understand why it's called "Birth of the Couch Potato"? The "Couch Potato" was born from TV, not video games.

Old timers like me use this method:

Right hand = mouse

Left hand = chips, sodas, beers, cigs, and patting the dog
