This should not be surprising. Birds are quite intelligent and have quite a social life.

We have lots of Ravens here and they are very capable.
- They bond in pairs as well as work together in groups sending long range call messages regarding food finds, encroaching preditors, etc.
- They gang up and operate as a team to ward off a hawk or coyote encroaching their area (happens all the time around my home)
- They are known to impress other Ravens by flashing shinny objects which they have found.
- They hide food from other Ravens using decoy and deception. They will pretend to bury food or an item in front of other birds then dig it up later & relocate it so that other birds are unable to steal it.
- The birds play together in different ways one of which involves putting on an air show with two birds locking talons in flight.
