Bird smashes into window

So I'm working in my cubicle, and a loud BOOM rocks the window. We check outside and found this.

I wonder why it flew into the window. There is a deep blue tint on it (not clear like other windows that had birds fly into them).

I believe it's a dove, and while a pigeon is a type of dove it's not this type.

On our trip to Chicago we were walking to the Street Fair and saw this bird hit a chirch door. The bird is all woozy and we walk toward it. This other bird comes up and starts walking circles around it. We thought to protect it, nope, he hops right on and starts humping. My wife in I were in tears laughing.

I saw that, so it had to have been AFTER it was on the ground.... wonder if that means its alive?

Happens here all the time. I have a large picture window in my living room.

"Clunk" is a common noise heard here. I try to keep the drapes drawn so that the poor birds will see them but some times I forget.
