I actually think this is not a bad idea. It seems simply insane to force them to spend $25B on cars to run on fairy dust if they cannot even keep the lights on. So, unless they can pull the money back and send it to me (and that would be bad PR), diverting it to operating costs is a good idea.

That said, how is it that the 25B passed for green tech initially when presumably the CEOs of the Big3 knew how up the creek they were? Didn't they know that (at least as the story goes today, based on what they're telling us), there was no way their companies would have survived long enough to actually spend that $25B on alternative tech?

Another bailout Bush will happily sign into law before he leaves office. The last year of his administration has been the worst, by FAR.

You're conveniently ignoring the fact that the bailouts were all championed by the terrible, Democrat-led Congress.

So an unknown amount of input from a mere two Republicans with an unknown amount of influence, is the new definition of "bipartisan"? Yahoo knows this is unpopular and is doing it's duty to shift the blame to the Republicans. ;) :D

It's the Bush crew that's opposing bailing out industries other than the financial sector.

But I know you just looked at your notecard and was reminded that evil is associated with the right, so you just reacted to lay all blame of this on the Republicans. We understand.

Don't listen to those guys. Personally, I find it refreshing to see that you don't blindly embrace every ideal of the Democratic party. Keeping that in mind, I'm looking forward to your condemnation of the Obama administration when they continue these policies regarding the bailout of our domestic auto industry.

Looks like it's still not over. I just wonder if congress is going to even read it other than the people on the committee.

What the hell are you talking about? ;)

Congress NEVER reads the legislation it passes. Hillary Clinton didn't even read the NIE before she voted for the Iraq Resolution. Bloody hell....How have we survived this long with this kind of governance?
