I was considering upgrading my opteron to a quad setup. I was considering a i7 setup as a major refresh and am looking at this biostar mobo as an affordable x58 board with some overclockability. I was wondering how well Biostar stands up against the big guys in terms of reliability and preformance?

Agrred the board looks sweet, but there are no reviews anywhere to be found. very curious. i'm torn between this and the asus p6t, but only because the p6t has tons of reviews anyone have a biostar tpower x58 review or experience? other then the one on newegg.

Biostar is becoming one of my fave MB compainies, always seem to have a well featured MB cheaper than the competition. I'm currently running there 790gx board and its very nice and hasn't given me a bit of problems. also have used there p35 based one with good sucess.

i went with the Asus p6t based on there are so many reviews and probably help once i get going. I also heard biostar, though good, is not so good on help / bios ala the p45 board. my build parts arrive tomorrow hopefully, so this weekend will be my first attempt at a ground up, from scratch build. here are the specs:

Intel Quad Core i7 920
3 x 1 gigs of Corsair Tri-Channel 1333mhz DDR3 Ram
Asus p6t
Western Digital 640 gb sata HD AAKS
EVGA Nvidia 896mb gtx260 (216 stream processor core model)
22 inch widescreen LCD (Acer)
BFG 800 watt power supply
Windows Vista 64 bit
Coolmaster Case RC 590
Samsung DVD burner drive
