I just installed this mobo with an Opteron 144 and 2 GB of G. Skill PC4000 and everything works great except for the hardware monitoring functions. It's a Newegg refurb board, version 1.1.

My vcore, vbatt, and vdimm all show 4.08v, 12v shows 16.32v, and the 5v and 5vsb are 6.85. My cpu temp is -1 C and the fan says 0 rpm. Obviously these are in error because the system runs fine, the fan is running (Panaflo 48cfm on XP-90) and the heatsink is barely warm to the touch. I am running the board off an Ultra X-connect PSU (500W nominal) with a 20-to-24-pin adapter and also have the 12v 4 pin plugged in. I have tried several different BIOSes, including the latest 03-06-06 version, and have had no success. Could it just be a bad monitoring chip? I'm open to any suggestions. BTW, I haven't had any of the LAN issues associated with this board, though I am running it at 2.25 ghz right now.

You've fingered the heatsink already and that's all the monitoring it needs. Likely either faulty monitoring chip or quirky...
