I hope this helps others. I just built a rig with a Biostar TF7050, a EVGA 8800GT 512, and a FSP AX400 PSU. Initially I had trouble that was resolved (20 hours later) by flashing bios N68PMB12.BST (dated 11-19) from the Biostar global site at http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/...ries/bios.php?S_ID=182
At first power on it wouldn't even post and showed a flashing power LED. I removed the 8800 and tried the onboard video which worked well, good enough to install windows. I ran myself in circles for awhile determining that the video card and PSU were good. The USA Biostar site only has a bios from June.
** bios flashing **
After a lot of searching I found the Biostar global site with the bios, but I had a hard time flashing the bios. The bios says it contains a bios flasher, but I couldn't get it to work even after I dug up a floppy to try it. I got success by putting the bios on a floppy and using the bios updater program on the same page as the bios. It seems the floppy was not needed as the files were navigated to. This program is installed in windows and seems to only work as I describe below.
1. When you open the program click on update
2. It asks if you want to backup. Click yes
3. Navigate to the new bios, name the backup bios (include extension) and enter.
4. It next appears to want you to backup the bios again, but this time navigate to the new bios, select it and enter.
5. This loads the bios and reboots. I suggest you enter bios right away and start off with "load optimum settings".
If someone can comment on other methods to update bios I'm interested because I have two other boards that may want the 8800gt.
