Really need help! TA780G with onboard Realtek ALC662 audio. Running under Win XP SP2. All functions in Device Manager look good except "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" which has a yellow checkmark next to it and shows "device is not configured correctly Code 1".

"Realtek High Definition Audio" appears to be OK with correct driver installed.

I've tried installing several versions of Realtek's driver packages but none seem to get rid of this problem. Searching the internet shows the ALC662 has these problems but none of the solutions have worked for me. I've not totally ruled out a bad MB here but hope someone can offer possible solutions. thanks.

Install the audio driver from the cd that came with the motherboard or locate your motherboard on Biostar's website and download the driver.

See above. I've tried installing the drivers on the MB cd as well as trying several versions from Biostar website.

In 780G (and 785/790 as well, I supppose) there are two HDMI audio controllers that you can turn on/off in the BIOS. I believe one of them is used when you want to use audio via HDMI along with video. If you are not using it, just disable it from the BIOS. It should disappear from Windows as well.

I might have misunderstood what the issue is. It seems like there are quite a few users experiencing audio issues on 780/790 boards lately.
