BIOSTAR TA780G M2+ + Crucial + Patriot memory

BIOSTAR TA780G M2+
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400 Brisbane 2.8GHz BE
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

I was finally able to get the above working with BIOS defaults and after pushing up Mem voltage to 2.06. Deafult Mem timings are at 5-5-5-18 (CPU-Z)

I also have a couple of Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail - PDC22G6400LLK

Adding these causes the system to freeze up intermittently in Vista 32-bit. (Memtest v3.4 ran fine for 5+ hours) What should I bump up the voltage to? What timings should I be using? Should I not try and mix the Crucial & Patriot modules?

I've been away from all this for a long time, so please excuse the almost-newbie questions 😱

Thanks.

I wouldn't mix different vendors, just asking for issues/trouble. I was thinking of putting my crucial back in with new g.skill but they aren't the same timings so that ain't gonna happen, also I suspect one of the crucials to be giving me trouble (again) hence switching to g.skill.

Both sets are DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel, 2.2V, 4-4-4-12 which is why I "thought" they might work together 🙂

Ah, well they may then since timings/speed are the same. But as you noted that you were getting freezes. I don't think you can tweak it down to the individual DIMM/slot timing though, but I could be wrong! Good luck either way!
