1. Both sticks are good on their own.
2. Will boot with both sticks in single-channel, but once in dual-channel it won't.
3. Worked at first with a pair of Kingston sticks, then when I put in a set of Ballistix it wouldn't boot so I put the Kingston pair back in and it no longer worked even though it did originally.

I saw that a couple of people on Newegg had a similar problem with their boards, but I didn't see a solution. Do I need to RMA this? Or does anyone have experience in fixing this problem?

I ran into this problem with the Gigabyte DS4 on three different rams I tried. Fortunately GB released their F7 bios update which fixed the error. Try updating the bios to the latest one.

are you sure you're putting them in the correct slots? on this board dual channel is slots 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 (the ones right next to each other).

I have updated to the latest Bios but it still will not post with the two sticks in dual-channel. I was able to put the kingston ram in and that came up in dual-channel, but when I switched them for the crucial chips it wouldn't post. I do have the sticks in the proper slots for dual channel. I have played around with different settings, like voltage, and eliminated other possibilities so I am left believing that it is most likely something to do with my mobo.

The jumper was set for bios control. I did try moving the 2.4 voltage but that didn't work.

The problem turned out to be a short, the mobo was making contact with the screw-anchor thingy and that was messing it all up.
