Biostar or Foxconn ? Geoforce 6100 mobo

Just my two cents but pay a few dollars more and get any skt 939 mobo with 6150 gfx and 430 northbridge combo. Better feature set and gfx than the 2 you're looking at.

Don't know much about that board but I would get one with a DVI jack as well as a VGA. I recently built a budget pc with a Foxconn 6150BK8MC-KRSH and it worked out well. Has all the bells and whistles except firewire. It also has hi def audio with a digital header on the board. You would need to get the bracket for it yourself. All for $70 CDN. Could be a problem finding one in the US. Boards with these feature sets for skt 939 are extremely difficult to find these days. If you don't care about the DVI header then I would just get the one from Neweg.

Probably the best of class for 6150, 430 boards are

ASUS A8N-VM CSM

MSI K8NGM2-FID

These boards along with their business platform sisters (when NBP follows in the name) are worth picking up if you can find one.

One other notable choice is the DFI RS482 infinity. It's an ATI chipset and has everything the other boards got except hi def audio and SATA2 support. It overclocks better than any 6150 board as well.

Where can that ASUS A8N-VM CSM be found? I looked for it two weeks ago and couldn't find it anywhere.

Sure about that? I have an Abit NF-M2 Nview board that uses the 6150 and mine will run at 360MHz+ HTT. I've seen CPU-Z screenshots of that board at 400MHz HTT, twice the default HTT of an A64. It also has Firewire, DVI, SPDIF out.

Thanks guys,

I went with the asus A8N-VM, got 7 of them.. found them at ZZF for $90 ouch, but I rather be safe than sorry...

Regards,
Jose

jose, did you get your Asus A8N-VMs today? I found them on ZZF and placed an order on the same day. This is the MB I was really wanting for my wife's build, but couldn't find the board anywhere. I wanted to be sure that I got it before I order the rest of the parts.
