one model m7vkq, the onboard video started to flicker after a week of usage. Also it is very picky about memory quality. I have to use crucial not generic dimm or it would crash.
as a budget mobo it is really bad at that, quality is on par with pcchips.
anyway i bought other cheap mobo at unbelivable discount prices most at 30 bucks namely ECS and MSI. refurbished at newegg and they work great. not to mention no onboard VGA, woohoo!
and generic dimm now works without crashing, perfectly stable.
but dimm is suck I am going DDR in the near future as I have 128mb DDR 2100 and 256mb 2700 sitting on my desk.

Sorry to hear your back luck with Biostar. :( I'm running a M7VIG pro in my server (see tbred in sig) with no problems after about a month. It's also being worked hard, crunching for ClimatePrediction.net right now. I'm using mixed PC2100 ram, one 256 meg kbyte and one 256 meg kingston. I haven't found out a way to crash it yet...

I have one of these boards too and don't think I will ever get one. Very picky with ram for one thing. I had some good micron and samsung ddr and none would work with this board. Tried everything you could to get it to work but ended up returning it and just getting an Asus board. Installed everything with no problem.

All board mfgs. produce a certain percentage of problematic boards. Having said that, Biostar definitely will not be my first choice, and it has never been. However, if I only had a choice between a Biostar and a Jetway, I'll go w/ Biostar though.
