Hello!
Had the Biostar M7VKS up and running for a few days (moms new computer, am testing it) and it works great! Except for the bios temp readings and, even weirder, the VIA HW monitor information.
Setup is....(cheesy drumrroll)
AMD Athlon 700
Chrome Orb
128 meg ram
the motherboard (everything is integrated...)
The bios claims the CPU is at 130+F right away, which is pretty fast to get to a high temp. Normally, I would stop the machine, but my ambient is around 70 and the Orb is cool to the touch....so we continued.
Loaded up VIA HW Monitor and it claims the CPU is even hotter, around 140 yet the system temp is 32!!!! I didn't notice ice forming anywhere....
Additionally, it claims the Orb fan is running at 6550 RPM and, when I update, nothing changes. All my other systems, the fan speed is not that constant and I do not recall that Orb ever running quite that fast.
Computer has been on for 2 days now, so if the temp is above 140, then I have one resistant CPU! Any thoughts?
Cheers
Greg
