BioStar (M7VKG)

I've got this board:
http://www.biostar.com.tw/products/mainboard/socket_a/m7vkg/index.php3

it shows a max memory of 1 gb, but the manual also shows Two 512 chips that can be put in. I was running one 512 chip, but when I added a second 512 chip, on reboot I kept getting a BSOD, that mentioned something about corrupt registry hive....... when I took the second chip back out, it booted up fine. Do I have to do something to the bios to get it to accept the second ram chip??

thanks

What type and manufacture of RAM are you using? Could be poor quality RAM. I've also heard that some boards just aren't stable using two 512MB sticks. I guess you could also try booting with the second stick only to see if you possibly have one bad unit.

Could be a problem with win 98, if that's what you're using. My board won't let me run 2 different brands of ddram even at the default settings.

no, is crucial memory....and both chips are identical, and will run seperately in either slot. The specs on the board say it will support two 512 chips..i've tried switching the settings in the bios........everything.......I just think the board won't take it 🙁
