first post, w00t :D

anyway ... i won a Biostar M7VKB motherboard at the AMD Techtour in Chicago, and I received it 2 days ago in the mail. those cheap punks.

i haven't been able to find reviews on this mobo ANYWHERE. i'm going to buy a Duron 750 and use it with this board. now, is this mobo/CPU combo worthy enough to replace my Asus P2B/PIII 450, or should i sell the Biostar M7VKB mobo to some unsuspecting fool on eBay?

A have a bunch of these boards in a lab at school since they're relatively cheap. Here are some pros and cons of this board:

Pros:
1. Stable (Windows 2000 has been running without a reboot for months on this board)
2. Easy to set up
3. Relatively fast
4. Good FSB overclocking (most of my boards hit 110MHz. without any problem).

Cons:
1. No multiplier adjustments
2. No voltage adjustments
3. Little (almost to the point of being nonexistant) documentation.

It's a good board if you don't need any frills and you don't intend to overclock your chip beyond just bumping up the FSB.

Good luck!

aah, i thank you.

the computer this mobo will be going into is my parents'. they are currently using the P2B mobo and 450MHz PIII (OC'd to 462 ... heat problems above that :| ). once i get the 750MHz Duron installed in there, i don't think i'll have to worry about overclocking it because they'll be happy. maybe i'll push the bus speed to 110MHz, but that's as far as i'll go because it needs to stay up and running. i will be running Win2K Pro with SP2 installed.

thanks again for the prompt reply.
