I bought a BIOSTAR H61MHB and instead of explaining the whole story, just know that I ended up with a i5-2500k(yes I know I cant overclock). I was going to get a i5-3450 but was told that since Ivy Bridge Cpu are a 22nm processor, I would have to update the bios on the motherboard first. My question is, with the i5-2500k, am I going to have to update the Bios before installing that processor also?

No, 2500K should work on your board (minus any overclocking) without any bios updates.

According to this webpage:

http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=545

if you have the H61MRC20.BSS bios, dated 12/22/11, the motherboard will work with i5 2500k or i5 3450 and many other 2nd and 3rd gen core processors.
