Biostar GeForce 6100-M9 Fan control problem...

Hi,
This is a box for my g/f.
I'm trying to get the T-Utility fan control to work on this board but every time I start the program, it shutdown my computer (gracefully). The T-utility HW monitor can't read the fan speed and CPU temp. I guess the program try to shut down my computer because it sees CPU fan is not running.
I'm with bios dated 8/11/06 and running XP Pro SP2 latest patch. All drivers are latest and the rest of my box is A64 3200+ and Corsair ValueSelect DDR-400 all at stock speed.
Any thought? I believe this mobo used to be popular here.

You're trying to use the T-Utility with a non-Tforce board... that may be the problem. I did not have an M9 board but had an M7 (socket 754 version) and that board did not have Smart Fan <- ability to control CPU fan. I even flashed it with the Tforce BIOS and it gave me a Smart Fan option, but setting it did nothing on the board. My belief is that you need the Tforce version of the board to be able to control the CPU fan.

HOLY!!
You are right. but MAN! I ordered the wrong mobo! IMHO, the way BioStar name their product is very confusing. I ordered this in hurry and assume they are all the same.
oh well. Gonna go with hardware speed control then.
