Hey AT peeps.

I consider myself one of the unoffical ATOT PC gaming elders. I'm pushing 30 and was playing KQ4 The Perils of Rosella by the time I was shooting my first loads.

That being said, the recent game Bioshock has totallly blown me away,

Not because of the FPS action or quality of action GP (TF2, COD4, and working on Crysis), but because of the awesome atomosphere and gameplay.

As far as PC games go, I am putting Bioshock in the pantheon of great games I've ever plaued. and in the last 10 years that's saying a lot.

As it should be. And "pushing 30" is the norm for a large part of AT considering 26 seems to be the largest posting demographic.

And you're such a cute little fella. In ~10 years, you'll have caught me.;) I didn't really like the Bioshock demo, though, so I won't be buying the DRM'd (Sony DRM at that) game.

Why doesn't anyone do a remake of Kings Quest, I have a feeling it would sell well.

Anyways Bioshock does do a great job of setting the atmosphere. It was scary for the first 5 minutes, but after that I got used to crazy things running after me.

For what I got to play of it BioShock did a good job of being creepy and scary without pissing me off (like Doom 3). Unfortunately I didn't get all that far as there's some issue with my PC where BioShock will let me play for a few minutes at a time without crashing. So when I fail to save regularly I get nowhere.

I just picked up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. from the bargain bin and I've found the atmosphere to be equal to that of Bioshock, and overall so far it's been scarier I'd say. Enjoyed Bioshock as well, but so far I think I'm liking Stalker a bit more.

no links off hand, but the first 2 KQ's were remade by some fans, much better graphics and full sound/speech. Came out maybe 4 years ago? and were made by fans so it's not totally commerical quality. But they're free and a lot of time was put into making it as close to the original as they could. Google "King Quest remake" and it should come up, when I get home I'll post the link, definitely worth looking into.

They probably did a better job than EA could do today. Could you find that link? I loved that game :D
