BioShock Question!!

I wanted to know if my PC (which is pretty old) will be able to run BioShock, running the game at medium settings will do for me.

Here are my system specs:

P4, 2.4 GHz
1 GB RAM (512 MB X 2)
NVidia Geforce 7300 GT (512 MB - AGP)

Honestly though the best way for you to find out is to run the demo.

To give you a small idea though, my old P4 (2.25ghz) was at the very end of its life when I replaced it about 10 months ago. The CPU was maxed out on every recent game I ran. NWN2 was the newest game I played on it, and it BARELY ran. As in it ran, but was quite slow and painfull.
Settings aren't going to do much to make the game run faster as it has less to do with graphics and more to do with the CPU.

Okay...maybe on medium graphics and 800 X 600 Resolution it'll be okay?

By the way those online requirement checker thingies only follow the printed min requirements from the developer. Those actually said my old computer could not run NWN2, and it ran it, just not as well as a newer system.

I'm sure it will be fine at those settings, then just tweak it until you hit the sweet spot.

Bioshock has good graphics, but they're all in closed environments, no huge outdoor areas. that makes it easier on your system.

You should be fine at 800x600. I recommend you try overclocking the video card a few notches with Ntune. Nothing more than 10% unless you want to fry it though 😉

With that video card the game will launch but I doubt even 640x480 with the lowest settings will be playable.

I run it on AMD Athlon 3200, 1gb RAM, ATI x1950 pro 256mb at 1680 x 1050. Yeah the monitor i got was a stupid choice for my vid card, but i thought I'd have a new computer sooner. You might be able to run it, but it won't look pretty and it won't run fast if you can.
