Bioshock No Sound

First off, this isn't for me. It's for my brother who just bought this game. His specs are identical to mine, so hardware isn't the issue. Also, he doesn't have a USB headset to plug in prior to loading Bioshock, so that fix is out too. No soundcard in either PCs, so no Stereo Mixer option is available to us.

My question is this. Does anyone know to enable sound on Bioshock while playing on Vista? The title music will be there, but no sound when you click any of the menu options. When you start the game, there is no sound whatsoever.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure the audio device is selected in the sound options. Also, you may want to try SRS Audio Sandbox(64-bit SRS Audio Sandbox) I realize it won't completely fix your issue but it might be a good work around.

I figured it out. XP compatibility was the problem.

Thanks for the replies anyways.
