And this...would be a good reason to pre-order. I mean, X-Com being widely known as a great game (free assuming you don't already own it) and another $30 on top of that? That's a deal you won't get on Steam any time soon.

(I take some of that back, Steam is giving X-Com free with it as well).

That $30 credit is good only for 2K games and it can't be used on anything released for 30 days and expires I think March 14, 2014. Just a heads up.

Only good for 2K games? Meh. Deal seems alot better than it actually is.

Note that the Amazon $30 credit is for downloads only, so I can't use it (for example) to finally buy Red Dead Redemption for my Xbox or PS3.

This is still tempting tough -- I expect 2K to release something else I want to play within the next year, and Bioshock + X-Com + $30 off another download is nice.

Hope future pre-orders are as competitive as this. I'd be all over this if I didn't already have all the free games and picked up a coupon for BSI for $25.

Hm, I don't have XCOM UE and also want Borderlands 2, NBA2K13 and Mafia II. This might be my first preorder.

Amazing deal for you then. If you can wait till Borderlands 2 goes on sale again you would get it for free at the very least. XCOM UE is a great game as well. NBA2K13 and Mafia 2 have both been on sale for real cheap a lot already so not such a big deal on those.

You hit the nail on the head. I'll just hoard the $30 until the summer Steam sale and I bet Amazon will come through.

Well... there's bound to be another 2k game worth getting within the next year right?

I'll buy someone's BS2 code if it is a dupe for them for $2.50 (if it can be separated).

so...45 bucks

and you get a 45 bucks game on release
+ a 15 bucks game when on discount (xcom)
+ a 5 bucks game when on discount (spec ops/darkness 2)
+ a 3 bucks game when on discount (bioshock 2)
+ 15 gmg credit

45 - 15 - 15 - 5 - 3 = 7

they are selling bioshock infinite for 7 bucks?

i dont like to preorder, but these deals are really looking good, maybe ill bite

btw...people are saying that in the steam discount, those tf2 hats, if you sell them at soon as they become tradeables you can get $30 aprox for them)

I haven't used the steam market much, but I don't see how these people would know ahead of time what people would pay for such a thing.

Shouldn't that math start at $60?

GameFly is currently doing a week-long sale, and Borderlands 2 will be on sale for $19.99 on Friday (3/22). It's currently $59.99 at Amazon, which makes it a worse deal even with the $30 off.

I'm very wary of pre-orders too, but I've been meaning to get X-Com anyway and with the $30 download credit towards other 2K games (buying from Amazon) the risk was low enough that I bit. It's basically costing me $15.
