Bioshock 1680X1050

I downloaded Bioshock through Steam, and it plays fine in 1680X1050, but when I quit the game and then try and come back into the game it hangs, I need to reboot and then it will be back to the default resolution and it plays fine. Note that when I make the change to 1680x1050 it plays fine, it's just when I try to start the game already in that resolution. Has anyone seen this before?
