I had just got a new system:

AMD Thunderbird 800MHz
Abit KT7-RAID mobo
Generic 256MB PC-133 RAM
Cardex Geforce 2 MX
IBM 45GB ATA100 HDD
Thermaltake Golden ORB cpu cooler
Full tower casing with 300W and 2nd case fan
Sound Blaster Live X gamer
Linksys Network card

My porblem is the system locked up after 30 seconds and i couldn't do anything in bios. The the screen just went blank and the monitor didn't receive any signal. At first i got CMOS checksum error but after i flash the cmos with the jumper, the problem is gone. But the computer still locked up.

So, i took out everything except the RAM, CPU and VGA card to try it. The problem is still there.
I tried using other RAM - no diff.
I tried using other VGA card ( TNT2 ) - no diff.
I tried stop the CPU fan - no diff

Please help - i wonder it is going to be my motherboard problem.
Waiting for advise! Thanks

Hi, I ran into the same problem, but mine turned out to be the ps2 connector on the motherboard. A few guys have said how they are having problems with motherboards w/bad ps2 connectors, I moved mine around a bit and the bios loaded fine.

Try taking out your mouse and or keyboard and see if the bios loads right, this worked for me. Preferably one at a time. Duh, what am I thinking!

Just a thought.

Wow i'm real smart, I meant take out the mouse and move the keyboard connector around. When I moved the keyboard connector, it worked and did not work, both....I can't explain this.

Then I took the mouse out and used the usb connector instead and it worked. Somethings up with mine, but maybe this is your problem as well.

My screen went blank like yours with the no-signal light as well.

As you did, I repeated all those steps and more, I still have problems but at least now the bios is not one of them.

Sorry for the misleading info.
